Impending Darkness Plot

This plot mostly follows Harry Potters story. NOT because he is central in the RPG, because he is not, but because the original books were written about his story, and it is the easiest to compare with what we already know.

The Beginning and Year One:

Harry Potter was raised with his parents, Lily and James Potter, and only sees his aunt, uncle and cousin rarely, if ever. He was sent to Hogwarts by his parents on time, and has grown up with his godfather, Sirius Black, at his side. Peter Pettigrew has never betrayed his friends. He is a normal eleven year-old boy and the rest of his story is completely up to whomever would like to pick him up as a character.

Hagrid was never kicked out of school, due to the fact that there was never an issue with Tom Riddle. Riddle did, indeed, go to school, but he was a passive, quiet student. He did not taken action until much later. If anyone would like to take Hagrid as a character, his history is completely open. For now, he is still the professor for Care of Magical Creatures. Harry and Ron met on the train where they also met Hermione Granger. However, due to the fact that there was no troll released on Halloween, Hermione is more of an acquaintance to the two boys than a friend. The position of DADA is relatively open due to the fact that Professors don't keep dying or converting due to Voldemorts control. Any teacher can take place as the DADA professor, as long as they send an email to the mods first.

Draco Malfoy heckles Granger and Weasley with his friends, since Harry is relatively out of his radar. Since Hermione is a muggleborn and Ron is broke, he makes the occasional jest or comment. He does not, however, go out of his way to annoy them, since he has no purpose to. There is no real rivalry there; they are just a bunch of students that know each other. Draco may laugh and makes snide remarks here and there in the back of the classroom, but nothing more.

The philsopher's stone is still sitting in vault number 713 as there was never a need to transfer it to Hogwarts to keep safe.

Second Year:

The events that occurred in "Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets," do not exist. It was a normal, drama free year. The chamber still exists, however its contents remain undisturbed. Dobby is still the Malfoy's house elf. Ginny Weasley was never possessed by Voldemort and Mrs Norris, Colin Creevy, Justin Finch-Fletchy, Nearly Headless Nick, Hermione Granger or Penelope Clearwater were never petrified and sent to hospital.

Third Year:

Sirius Black was never thrown in Azkaban, and Peter Pettigrew is still walking among the living, completing his everyday tasks. Remus Lupin is a professor at Hogwarts and was not fired since there was never an occasion where he had transformed on school grounds. Unfortunately, Buckbeak was still executed at the end of the year as he was not saved by Harry and Hermione.

Fourth Year:

The triwizard tournament was won by Cedric Diggory. Barty Crouch Jr. was not at the school to place Harry's name in the cup, and the trophy was not a portkey, therefore Cedric Diggory is still alive. The reason that Cedric was is this: in the books, Cedric was the one who reached the cup with Harry. Although Krum was under a curse in the maze, it is most canon to say that, since Cedric technically reached the end with Harry in the books, he reached the end alone since Harry was not involved. Rita Skeeter is not involved in Harry's life, nor any of his friends unless they would like otherwise.

Fifth Year:

There is no Order of the Phoenix. A resistance group is not needed because there is nothing to resist against yet. There are no horocrux's (that people know of). Fifth year went as any other year did. Dolores Umbridge never entered the school, Dumbledore was never sent to Azkaban, or was he ever on the run. Again, the DADA teacher has probably been the same as the one from first year, and any adult character can take that place if they wish (as long as they have no criminal record, or do not have a job already). That being said, as Dumbledore did not leave and since Umbridge was not a professor, Dumbledore's Army (or D.A.) was never created. There were no secret meetings in the Room of Requirement, nor were any students a member of the Inquisitorial Squad. There is no prophecy between Harry and Voldemort.

Sixth Year:

Dumbledore is still alive, Severus Snape did not kill him, nor did he preform the unbreakable curse with Narcissa Malfoy. Draco is not an upcoming deatheater trying to kill anyone. He is a regular student, just like everyone else. Cornelius Fudge is still the current Minister for Magic. There are still no Horcruxes, known to the public, and Regulus Black is alive. His history is up to whomever would like to take him as a character.

Seventh year:

You're in it! It just like any other year for students, trying to write papers, get grades, ect. Harry, having never been forced to drop Quidditch, is the Quidditch Captain. It is up to all other players if they would like to be on the team. Hermione is currently the Head Girl.

ALL FOLLOWERS OF VOLDEMORT:

Your character has not heard the name "Voldemort" ever. They will either be forced to follow or idealize him for his vision of a muggle-free world. It is completely up to you what your character has been doing for the past twenty years, but they do NOT, and ARE not familiar with Voldemort, or his ideals.
